Description

Protect Your Motor From Rapid Voltage Spikes with a dVdt Filter. Ideal for AC-powered pumps with wire runs exceeding 450 ft, inverter-powered pumps, or any variable-speed drive.

Any electronic drive system, whether it’s a VFD, inverter, soft starter, or power controller, works by switching electrical power on and off rapidly to control motor speed. This rapid switching creates steep voltage spikes that stress your motor’s insulation from the inside out. Unlike an overheating motor that you can feel and hear, this insulation damage happens silently and invisibly. The insulation gradually wears out until one day, your motor suddenly burns out without warning. This is especially dangerous if you have an older motor, long cable runs, or any situation where motor replacement would be costly and disruptive to your operations.

A dVdt filter (also called a dv/dt filter or a motor choke) is a motor protection device that stops these voltage spikes before they have a change to damage your equipment. The device is installed between your drive and motor. Once installed, your motor’s insulation stays protected from electrical stress, which prevents unexpected failures and extends your motor’s lifespan significantly. You won’t face the surprise of an emergency motor replacement when you need your system most.

Wether you’re using it as a VFD filter, or to mitigate stress from long wire runs, we make sure that installation is a breeze. We include a full-color installation guide and live support from our US-Based team for any questions you have.
